Quiksilver Pro France 2008 – lay day

The Quiksilver Pro was postponed today due to the small surf and dropping swell.  The waves are expected to pick up considerably tomorrow, producing sizeable, quality surf for Tuesday and Wednesday.  We should see the contest resume Tuesday morning.  By the numbers, if Slater wins this thing, the title is his.  If Taj and Bede bow out in Round 3, Slater only needs to win a couple of heats to seal the title.  Slater’s biggest challenge to the title?  His Round 1 winner, wildcard Fronchie, Joan Duru.  Can Joan pull off the same upset twice?  Another heat to watch will be the Dane Reynolds and Jordy Smith matchup.  Who will win this battle of the rookie sensations?
