The third event of the 2009 ASP Junior season kicks off on Wednesday in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia. The Billabong Pro Junior will feature a Grade 3 event for the boys and a Grade 1 event for the girls. This event also marks the first female Junior competition of the 2009 contest season, so the girls will be frothing.
Owen Wright will be the guy to watch on the boy’s side, having already dominated the first two events of the 2009 season. The pressure is on to see if he can take down a third consecutive event. Other big-name Aussies joining Owen include Stuart Kennedy and Dean Bowen. A handful of international surfers will be facing off against the home team, including Tahiti’s Tamaroa McComb and Brazil’s Alejo Muniz.
Tune in to the event website for photos, video highlights, heat sheets and all the live audio action. Sorry folks; the Junior contests haven’t stepped up to the live video stream yet, so you’ll just have to listen to commentators telling you how sick Owen Wright’s last punt was.
