Rusty Surfboards team rider, Johnny “Monster” Maher, is always on the hunt for the XXL “Ride of the Year” win, and this is a clip courtesy of the Rusty website. Dude likes to charge, that's for sure, and draws some pretty rad lines in the process. (Check the pull-in at about the 33 second mark.) Awesome shit. If that wave had kept throwing, he had enough speed to get barreled for another football field's length. Maybe all the way back to La Jolla, who knows? Another cool part was watching him pop a little grab air with a board camera running. You don't see that very often, and it makes the air seem like it's huge.
After that there are some great clips of him getting throated at Puerto – I'm guessing at least – because I can't really think of anywhere else it could be. Haven't been there yet personally.
