Product Review – Power Balance

PrintEmailShare

While recently conducting some researching on Alaia surfboards for my next do-it-yourself project I came across a YouTube video of Dave Rastovich tearing it up on one of Tom Wegener’s new boards. Following his short Alaia segment I realized that the video was actually more of a testimonial/commercial for a fairly new product called Power Balance. I had never heard of it and I was surprised to see Rasta of all people hitting the mainstream and going a bit more “commercial” than usual. I figured if he’s vouching for this product with such passion, it’s worth looking into a bit more. A few short clicks later, I was overwhelmed by a slew of candid video outtakes of my favorite surfers personally vouching for, or trying this product out for the first time and being blown away! After a dozen videos I was still a bit skeptical but the candid and surprised looks on their faces during the random tests were enough to make me want to see what Power Balance is all about.

Power Balance Inc. is a wearable performance and wellness technology company that
creates Mylar holograms embedded into wristbands. The products optimize an
individual’s ability to achieve better balance, increased strength and greater flexibility by
utilizing frequencies that occur in nature to improve the body’s ability to absorb oxygen.
The Power Balance wristband uses a Mylar hologram coded with body beneficial frequencies which
reacts with the body’s energy field to create a harmonic loop. This loop maximizes
energy distribution and increases the body’s ability to absorb and deliver more oxygen to
various parts of the body.

Everyday objects like cell phones, hair dryers, fluorescent lights, microwaves and computers diminish the body’s natural energy field and cause red blood cells to deliver oxygen to the body more slowly. Using Power Balance, the Mylar hologram embedded in the company’s signature wristbands restores the natural energy field to the same frequency that occurs in nature. This helps red blood cells rotate and transport oxygen to the body and organs more efficiently, which promote better balance, strength and flexibility.

Although they are starting to integrate Power Balance into almost everything, I opted for the silicone and neoprene wristbands. Once I received them I called a bunch of people into my office and proceeded with the testing. We had all been talking about it for days and everyone’s BS meters were up for sure. However, just as they advertised, it really did seem to work. Everyone that tried it noticed an immediate difference and were pretty freaked out with the result!!!

The real test for me would be in the water. I rushed out of work that day and headed for my local break. The waves were steep, hollow, and closing out all at once but I still managed to notice a big difference in my surfing and have a killer session. I was making drops I usually wouldn’t and even just sitting on my board in the line-up seemed easier. I felt Power Balance’s effect most in my cutbacks; they were smoother and the board seemed to be stuck to my feet, especially during that real critical point when turning back towards the foamball. I usually always eat it about half way to three quarters of the way thru a cutback and made all the attempts that day….Crazy Voodoo!!!

Lastly, I felt the timing of this review would be most appropriate because as of last week, Andy and Bruce Irons officially signed a deal with Power Balance to endorse their product and will be showcasing it at the Hurley US Open of Surfing at Huntington Beach, CA, July 18-26. Let’s see how it helps them perform!!! Bruce, Andy, Rasta, and now me, Garage Shaper all recommend Power Balance and think you will too once you give it a try. Most of their products retail between $30-$40 bucks and are available online. Check out their sites: www.powerbalance.net / http://www.youtube.com/user/PowerBalance for more info and some great videos. Thanks for reading and as always, be sure to tell a friend.

How much money is Power Balance giving you for putting up this post?

    • jeffdachef says:

uhm not being paid by powerbalance. i just got it kuz i was scammed by a co worker, but this thing worked pretty decent doing those balance tests, it does help you do one arm push ups maintain balance and helps a lil with my surfing too. just the band is really fragile, a fat friend of mines put it on and it ripped xD, thing still worked tho, even if you have it in your pocket. its neat but not really neccessary unless your an athlete

  7. Walter Fontes says:

The $10 dollars shipping cost is extremely ridiculous.

I go to high school and was at a fitness club. I have recently come back from a broken wrist and still find push up difficult, my fitness instructor handed me the wristband and told me nothing about it, I put it on and managed to do 20 push ups there and then. He then explained what is, I was amazed, can’t wait to buy one :)

  10. Richard Kochan says:

I just recently bought a power balance wrist wrap. After some research and deliberation, I concluded that the product contained krypton-the element that gave Superman his extraordinary powers.
Recently, however, I concluded that some of them don’t contain as much krypton as others. I was jumping from one building to another, which was some 30 feet away, and barely made it (I was able to grasp the ledge and pull myself up.
So, be very careful…Also, if you dress like Clark Kent, it takes a bit of time to get your clothes off, so I recommend you only try when you’re in your gym attire.

    Sincerely yours,

    Dick (The Aspirant) Kochan

Whats the difference with power balance and TrionZ. I use TrionZ and it works..

  12. Stone says:

JUST ANOTHER PLAIN STUPID ITEM IT IS LOL, WHO THE HELL WOULD BELIEVE A TINY BRACELET MAKES DIFFERENCE ? LOL
I WOULD HAVE BELIEVE A LITTLE IF IT WERE SOME KIND OF MAGNET, BUT A HOLOGRAM? GIVE ME A BREAK LOL

IF IT WERE “REALLY” THAT GOOD, IT WOULD SELL MORE THAN $100.00

WEARING THIS ITEM JUST BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE THROUGH THEIR ADS CAMPAIGN, MAKING YOU BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING HAS CHANGED EVEN IF THERE ISN’T

WELL OF COURSE SOME ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO BELIEVE IT AND RAISES THEIR CONFIDENCE, NOT THAT BAD I GUESS LOL

    • fezza07 says:

If people gain the confidence in the mind that wearing one of these increases power and performance etc then they would probably get more out of it than if the product was actually authentic anyway. Everything starts in your head and if this is what it takes to get peoples heads right then it is a better investment then Protein powder, that only works if you go to the gym, because you’re more likely to gain fat if you don’t go and use the protein in the correct way. I wasn’t too fussed about them either then my mate gave me a test and I brought one straight away, “and I gotta tell ya, it feels phenomenal” (Vince Vaughn Dodge Ball)

    • jeffdachef says:

if you didnt buy it then dont bother replying

    • Robert says:

Wtf is your problem. Did you even read the review? It uses your body’s energy flow. I am also sure you dont know how simple it actualy is (if your a scientist). We have technology thats far greater than this. You should realy do your research before looking like and idiot saying lol after every sentence. I also think your daft.

Yeah man, whats up with the LOL

  14. scott says:

got one of these surfed twice in it now the hologram has gone black and has twisted go for trionz

  15. Tom says:

They actually do work. If you haven’t tried them, then you cant say they dont work. If you tried it and it didnt work, its prolly cuz you tried to make sure it didnt work. It works and i recommend it to everyone

  16. Tom Saunders says:

Be advised that the hologram will start to vanish if you expose it to the suns rays! I got one for christmas and it was fine until the summer got here and I was out in the sun alot. I go fishing and spend alot of time in the sun. I have gone through three of these in the past two months. If you are going to be out in the sun flip the hologram over so it facing your skin so the uv rays cant get to it. You will know you are having this promlem if your hologram is turning the color of your bracelet. It is actually turning clear allowing the color beneath to show through. Good thing about the problem, retailers know about issues and will give you a new one, no reciept needed usually. I tried to tell the power balllance people about what I think is causing the problem but so far no one has called me back. I hope they can figure out how to block the uv’s from destroying their hologram.

    Power Placebo.

Try this: Stand with one arm out in front of you and rotate it as far as you can and then stop. Close your eyes and visualize doing it again and rotating even more. You’ll do it better the second time because you’re more focused on what you are trying to achieve and your body is more prepared for it the second time around (which is why when they are testing the product on a customer they get them to wear the band on the second attempt).

Don’t waste your money on this over-priced novelty. Just remember to believe in yourself to achieve whatever you want.

  18. Tliish Ligai says:

I had one of these bracelets given to me as a gift. Thought it was pretty silly, like snake oil, but why not try it. After only wearing it a few hours, I noticed that my arthritis felt much better. I will continue to wear this silly looking braclet as long as it seems to help

  19. Chris says:

Is there any clinical research behind this product?
