Following up on my 2010 World Tour qualifiers report from earlier this week, we can now officially welcom two out of three of the Gudauskas brothers to next year’s tour.
Following his successful run at the O’Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach last week, Tanner Gudauskas, the youngest of the Gudauskas clan, will be joining his older bro, Patrick for a freshman run on the World Tour in 2010.
Not making the cut… Pat’s twin brother, Dane, who failed to secure enough points, finishing at a very respectable 58th in the world. We’ve previously covered Dane’s insane talent and uncanny Hellboy-ish looks (though these days, he’s looking more and more like a 20-something year old Gary Busey).
The three brothers have become a fixture and fan favorites as they’ve traveled the world together chasing WQS points over the past few years. Now, Pat and Tanner will continue that chase on the World Tour, while Dane does the grind alone. The good news…. With the new tour format changing to a one world ratings system halfway through the 2010 season, the brothers are likely to be reunited midseason when the World Tour and WQS combine their ratings.
Congrats, boys for all your hard work and entertaining antics. Look forward to more great things from the G-3 in the future.
