Surf Shop Review: WARM WINDS Narragansett, RI

PrintEmailShare

We were recently in Narragansett, RI for a surf event and Warm Winds Surf Shop was our go to place.  Warm Winds is the best surf shop in the area.  The store has 2 floors: upstairs has all kinds of gear and accessories, and downstairs they have a serious inventory of boards in all shapes and sizes.  The guys working there all surf, and all know there sh!t.

Warm Winds also offers lessons and board rentals.  If you need a lesson just call up and you can schedule an individual lesson or schedule to join in on a group lesson.  For a group lesson, they run a couple per day and will give you the times if you call up.  The day we were there, they had group lessons at 11am and 2pm (or something close to that, one late morning and one in the afternoon).  To join a group lesson, just go to their tent on the beach — you don't have to go to the surf shop.  You can sign up, get your gear, and meet up with their instructors right at the tent.  If you need a board rental, same deal, just go to their tent on the beach and they will hook you up.  We checked out the rental boards and it looks like they actually rent out decent boards as far as rentals go.  The one negative is parking is tough (small parking lot), but parking is tough in Narragansett in general.  Overall, Warm Winds is a cool shop that has everything you need, and gets a stoked rating for location and selection.  You can check out their website here.  Tell ‘em you read about them on dailystoke.com, and maybe they'll hook you up…
