The O’Neill Cold Water Classic, Tasmania changed its venue for the third time in three days for Wednesday’s heats, with big names continuing to advance and stumble in the third day of competition.
Following on the heels of no live video stream for the first two days of the event, day 3 saw the loss of the live score feed, leaving this irate ASP Addict and internet surf fans the world over in the dark on day 3. Let’s take a look at what we all missed.
Advancing through to Round 3 were World Tour surfers, Jordy Smith of South Africa, Florida’s Damien Hobgood, and Josh Kerr of Australia; former World Tour surfers, Nathan Hedge and Jay Thompson of Australia, Florida’s Cory Lopez, and Travis Logie of South Africa; Americans, Brad Ettinger, Patrick and Dane Gudauskas, and Brett Simpson; Aussies, Owen Wright, Kirk Flintoff, Heath Joske, Luke Dorrington, Craig Anderson, Jayke Sharp, Jarrad Howse, Clancy Dawson, Corey Ziems, Sam Page and Yadin Nicol; Hawaiians, Dusty Payne and TJ Barron; Brazilians, Yuri Sodre and Jean da Silva; Chile’s Manuel Selman; Reunion Island’s Hugo Savalli; Fronchies, Joan Duru and Patrick Beven; Japan’s Masatoshi Ohno; and Gony Zubizarreta of Spain.
Notable exits on Wednesday included World Tour surfers, Ben Dunn and Nic Muscroft of Australia and Gabe Kling from Florida, as well as former World Tour surfer, Royden Bryson.
Log on to the event website for news and updates and check out the live score feed (if it’s working when competition resumes) to keep up with the event live.
