Van’s Pier Classic presented by Jack’s Surfboards – Thursday recap
The 2 Star WQS Vans Pier Classic presented by Jack’s Surfboards went live again on Thursday, bringing us all the action on the live video stream (unlike it’s 6 Star cousin taking place in Tasmania right now).
Thursday saw the completion of Rounds 2 and 3, setting the scene for the Round of 64, Round 4 heats when competition resumes. Facing off in Round 4 are an overwhelmingly Californian and American contingent, including Richie Collins, Dylan Melamed, Andrew Doheny, Matt Keenan, Jesse Merle-Jones, John John Florence, Dane Johnson, Eric Geiselman, Liam McNamara, Nick Rupp, Asher Nolan, Jason Shibata, Andrew Gessler, Jason Collins, Peter Mel and Mike Losness, among many others. A handful of international surfers are also still in the running, including Australia’s Heath Walker, and Bruno Rodrigues, Icaro Ronchi and Pedro Husadel of Brazil.
