Spiderman rips
While cruising the web in search of videos of the Mentawais, I came across this precious gem of a film, depicting our famous webbed crusader letting loose in the Mentawais. While I never did expect Spiderman to be an “on the face” guy, who knew he was such a versatile aerialist in the water?
We know this isn’t the real Spiderman (don’t tell me he’s just a cartoon), and it certainly isn’t Toby Maguire. The surfer in the suit, Insight 51 team rider, Teiki Ballian does one hell of a job punting at will in a full costume. While his surfing is admirable on its own, perhaps equally as impressive is how Teiki was able to stand a whole video session wearing that lycra suit in the tropical Mentawais. If I chanced upon a trip to the Mentawais, nothing would have me sweating away in a suit like that on such a rippable wave. Thanks, Teiki for making yourself look ridiculous while putting on an amazing display of surfing. You are truly an entertainer. Now give Toby Maguire his suit back.
