Surfboard Wax Art - How to get perfect little artsy bumps like this. If you want ‘em.

Here’s how you can get some bitchin’ art on your surfboard. Photo from Moonlight Glassing, of Chris Malloy’s board.
1. Have some time on your hands.
2. Have a Mandala/Campbell Bros/Andino etc. board. Glassed on fins, of course. :)
3. Remove all the old wax you’ve got on your board. Duh. Leave your precious board in the sun for a few hours to make it easy. (Use the Wax buddy thingy or a pickle.)
4. Buy some tropical Sticky Bumps surf wax. Or base coat. Even warm water wax will work. (if you’re north of San Diego or Florida and it happens to be winter time.) Break the bar in half so that you have a pen-like thing.
5. The secret is to melt the wax with an iron elbow grease, and taking your time.
6. Draw your surfboard wax art. As you would if you’re coloring. Take your time. Draw a giraffe or waves or whatever, you creative bastard.
7. When you are self satisfied with your drawring, take the flat part of your bar, and gently, but firmly, rub the wax on your board, making circles. Use a whole bar. Push hard. Only the bumps will show up, eventually, if all goes well.
8. Sticky bumps or Palmers seems to work the best.
9. Admire art, get stoked.
10. Go Surfing!
