Dillon Perillo Surfer PhotoDAILYSTOKE: So when word got out we were going to interview you, all the ladies on our staff got all hot and bothered. They want to know are you single (they made me ask)?

Dillon: Yes I am single at the moment. (huge applause from the ladies in the house)

DAILYSTOKE: OK let's get down to business, you roll from Malibu.  What's good and bad about Malibu and are there too many prima donnas there?

Dillon: Malibu is a really beautiful place and it's super mellow away from the city so that's nice. The only bad things are it gets really crowded in the water and it's a really small town so there's not much to do.  There's actually not a lot of pre madonnas surprisingly, Malibu has more of a hardcore seen now, tough guys haha. I really don't know I don't spend much time at home anymore but when I do I really enjoy it.

DAILYSTOKE: Tell us how you got into surfing, and when you knew you had the skills to be a pro?

Dillon: My dad is the one who got me into surfing. Both my parents were really supportive. The moment when I figured out I could maybe be a pro surfer was when I was 16 I won nationals. From there on everything seemed to get better and better.

DAILYSTOKE: Wwhat was your first board and who taught you to surf?

Dillon: My first shortboard was a 6'2″ Ludwig Haha. I don't even know if that guy shapes anymore but it had blue stripes and glasson fins. I wasn't  even that stoked on surfing back then, it was awhile ago.

DAILYSTOKE: Who influenced you growing up?

Dillon: When I was growing up I watched a lot of Taylor Steele movies. I always bought them and he always had the best surfers in his videos. It was like that until Dane Reynolds became big. I always watched his surfing just like everyone else.

DAILYSTOKE: Some consider you a power surfer, do you like being characterized as to your style?

Dillon: I really don't know. I actually try to do everything. I don't feel like I'm much of a power surfer but I do do a lot of turns I guess.

DAILYSTOKE: How did you hook up with rip curl and what have you been doing for them?

Dillon: I owe everything to my manager Josh Landan he's gotten me all my big sponsors lately. That and a combination of knowing some people.

DAILYSTOKE: If you could surf anywhere in the world, with anyone, where and who would it be?

Dillon: I'd say either go to Mexico or Indo with my dad because I haven't been anywhere with him in awhile and he used to take me on a lot of surf trips.

DAILYSTOKE: Tell us about your plans with the tour etc in 2011?

Dillon: Well I've been playing it by ear kinda haha. I'm really not sure if I want to free surf or do comps so I try both. I'm going to Australia for awhile then Indo that's it so far. I'm thinking about trying to qualify one of theses days. Free surfing is just so much fun.

DAILYSTOKE: How did you end up on 90210, were you looking or did they walk up to you on the beach one day and say hey man want to be on 90210?

Dillon: My moms a really good hair dresser and she's been working in hollywood her whole life and she knows a couple stunt directors. I'm trying to do more stuff like that but I haven't been offered anything lately.

DAILYSTOKE: Who makes the best fish taco in malibu?

Dillon: Dukes has always been the spot but this new place Cafe Habana is really good too. I better get a free taco from that Hahaha.
