Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock! It’s time to break out your wallet and buy a gift for someone who’s NOT a jock. I put together a little list of Christmas gift ideas for the surfer in your life. You’re probably going to wonder why the hell I didn’t put a surfboard or a wetsuit on there, so let me explain it first: trying to buy a surfboard for somebody is pretty much impossible. Chances are you’re not going to get the one they really want or need. Unless of course they tell you the one they want first, but where’s the Christmas spirit in that? I happen to think the surprise is the best part of a Christmas gift.
Here are a few new products out I think that any surfer would enjoy…
The new “Outsider” watch from Nixon looks pretty sweet. Custom digital watch with an electronic compass, dual time, date, chrono, timer, and a reliable alarm. Plus a little night light you can use to see the toilet in the middle of the night. It’s water proof of course, so if you ever happen to find yourself a 100 meters down below, you won’t have to worry about what time it is. This watch is hot, and the Nixon website is already completely sold out of them, so check with your local surf shop!
Price tag: $150.00
Quiksilver has a new retro lookin’ board short out. I would never wear this personally, but maybe you could pull it off. Looking at these trunks reminds me of Tom Carroll’s famous snap at Pipeline. Remember that? In case you’re too young, and you’ve never read or heard about it, it’s his third wave in the clip below:
The daisy dukes will cost you about $50.00 bucks.
Depending on where you live, and if a jackets even necessary. Volcom has a pretty bad ass looking coat out. It’s called the “Varik”, and it’s pretty much all wool. So if you’re a stinky dude, this jackets gonna reek! It looks pretty sweet though, and chicks dig guys that know how to dress.
Cost you around $150.00 bucks.
