Montreal River Surfing - or - a few good reasons to move north

When we think of Montreal, we think of a little bit of France in Canada.  You have the European flair, the Canadian politics, the French cuisine, the Euro discotechs, the old world architecture, the French snootiness…

What we don’t think of when thinking of Montreal is river waves that rival some of the contest waves one would see on the World Qualifying Series.  Oh… and chicks in bikinis, surfing said river waves.  It’s not always about surfing perfect waves in tropical locations.  Sometimes it’s just dealing with what life throws at you.  In this case, life is throwing what looks like one hell of a fun river wave at all takers.

If you’re a fan of Montreal, but have always lamented its lack of a surfable coastline, despair no more.  Sure, it’s not the Pacific ocean empty perfection of British Columbia that the Bruhwilers call home.  Nor is it the swell magnet southeast facing shores of Nova Scotia that fire non-stop throughout hurricane season.  Take it for what it is; a rippable river wave with virtually no crowds, other than one guy throwing down Canadian river hacks and a bunch of babes in bikinis.

Enjoy!
