California Surf Film Festival goes off November 7-10

California Surf Film FestivalThe Endless Summer is more than a surfing movie - it defined the surfing documentary genre and its impact has not been equaled to this day. Bruce Brown’s sometimes corny, always interesting narration defines the film. And while you’ve already seen The Endless Summer at least once, California surfers will want to attend a once-in-a-lifetime screening at the California Surfing Museum with Bruce Brown providing live narration of the movie. Now that’s cool.

The event is part of the first annual California Surf Film Festival hosted by the California Surfing Museum in Oceanside. A number of notable films and must sees will be showing, including Musica Surfica, recently awarded the grand prize at the New York Surf Film Festival, Under the Sun, a fantastic journey to the heart of surfing on the Gold Coast in Australia, by Cyrus Sutton, and One Track Mind by Woodshed films and Chris Malloy. That’s just a taste of the several great surfing movies and shorts that will show.

The festival benefits the California Surfing Museum and takes place November 7-9, 2008 at the appropriately-named Crest Theater, 102 N. Freeman Street, Oceanside, California. It’s inexpensive entertainment in tough economic times! Tickets can be purchased online here. DailyStoke.com will be in attendance. We’re stoked, and we’ll see you there.
