Delta Airlines and Surfboards

Given that Delta is headquartered in Atlanta, we’re fairly certain they weren’t thinking of their surfing brethren when it came recent changes to their baggage allowance for surfboards. As of last week, it cost a whopping $175 EACH WAY to transport a surfboard for domestic routes (including Rincon, Puerto Rico) and only $300 EACH WAY anywhere else. Furthermore, according to Delta, “Surfboards are allowed one board per bag; additional boards in a bag will be charged, per board.”

WOW. Hide those boards in the bag guys!

Not that you’re EVER going to fly with your shortboard anymore with these prices, but here’s a pretty innovative way to protect your fins:
