In mid-August, Firewire announced that it would be partnering with Lost Surfboards to create at least two new surfboard models. The partnership will fuse the designs of Lost co-founder, Matt Biolos, with Firewire’s FST technology. The initial results of the partnership have yielded two new surfboard designs that will be produced at four sizes each - a total of 8 new boards to choose from. The Lost designs include the F1, a high-performance, pro-influenced board meant for advanced and confident surfers, and the Stealth, an average Joe board “called the Stealth because it’s a fish hidden inside a shortboard” explains Biolos.
Firewire and Lost make logical partners because Firewire technology has proven successful in retail markets and the designers at Lost have always been interested and supportive of Firewire’s technology. Firewire hopes that Lost will bring its established reputation in the surf industry to sway those who are skeptical or on the fence about new surf technology.
