Kelly Slater poised to win ninth World Title today

We learn that the surf conditions are primed for Kelly Slater to with the Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour surfing championship in Hossegor, France today at the 2008 Quiksilver Pro France. This would be Slater’s ninth victory, and a repeat victory since Slater’s victory on the Association of Surfing Professionals tour last year. Round 4 of the event will commence at 8:30am local time in four to six foot (two to three metre) waves at Les Estagnots, a beach break at Hossegor. While three contests remain, if Slater wins his heat, World Number 2 Taj Burrow must finish in third place or better to keep the contest alive for the Billabong Pro Mundaka 2008, taking place September 29 - October 12, 2008 in Mundaka, Spain.
