Lewis Samuels beats up on the top 45 following Teahupoo
Though his Surfline.com license has been permanently suspended, Lewis Samuels continues to do what he does best, stir shit and take the piss out of the top 45 on his surf blog. While Surfline continues to run their own “Power Rankings”, Samuels presents the real deal with his keen observations and mostly over the top, yet always entertaining analysis of the surfers on the Dream Tour. Surfline has now resorted to using multiple writers to produce their new version of the rankings, yet they still pale in comparison to Samuels’ blog.
Highlights of this latest round of comments include comparing Kelly Slater’s repeated exits to watching a dying dog; suggesting that Tim Boal is an international spy; comparing giant killer Aritz Aranburu to British singing sensation Susan Boyle and Quasimodo; and challenging Dustin Barca to a Hawaiian thug vs. Jewish intellectual gang fight. Oy vey! The accompanying photos are better still, with spot on photos of Chunk from “The Goonies” representing Kekoa Bacalso, Phil Spector channelling Kai Otton, and Dolph Lundgren alongside Mick Fanning.
