Long time Pipeline charger Cody Graham called an “idiot” by Hurley
Drama at the Pipeline…
Aamion Goodwin was recently rushed to the hospital when long time Pipeline charger, Cody Graham, cut him off on the “wave of the day”, and sent Aamion knee first into the reef.
“It was ugly,” said witness Mark Healey. “It looked all out of socket and just wrong. Definitely looked like he’s out for a while.”
Aamion’s knee was badly dislocated, and he’s still waiting on the MRI results for the final diagnosis. (Knee injuries are pretty sketchy so lets all hope this turns out okay for him.) The Hurley blog is pointing the finger at Cody Graham for not looking back, saying Aamion had to “think fast & instead of killing the idiot who tried to drop in, he sacrificed himself instead.” [Editor's Note: Since this post was published, the Hurley blog shows the post as "killing the guy who tried to drop in...]
Apparently everything was working out for Aamion. ”Except right before he could get this beast shack a certain someone came flying out of the sky and landed face first in the dead center of the pit.”
As you all know Pipeline is one of the most crowed surf spots in the world, and getting snaked is a tough reality to swallow when you’ve been waiting hours for a wave. Not to mention the fact your well-being is on the line. It’s hard enough to come out alive without people falling from the sky!

That sucks for both Aamion and Cody. Aamion was the victim, but to call Cody an idiot is just disrespectful and an insult to anyone that has ever put in time at pipe.
I hope Aamion heals quickly, but when a guy has surfed pipe since 13 yrs old he should be allowed one bad wave choice.
Evan and Hurley should think about what is a good story at pipe. A legend making one mistake or all the kooks they send over trying to sell magazines (Evan) or sell a brand (Hurley).
What does Aamion have to say about Cody?
I REALLY HOPE HURLEY DID NOT CALL MY SON A IDOIT!!!HE MADE A MISTAKE WHICH HE FEELS SO SAD ABOUT!!!HE HAS HAD HIS SHARE OF INJURIES OUT THERE AND ANYONE WHO KNOWS HIM WOULD KNOW IT WAS A NOT TO DROP IN ON AAMION.
