there is usually a perfect spot to be in just in front of the breaking wave

Hot Surfing Chicks

Travel Diaries: El Salvador (Part 1)

On my trip through Central America, we had heard of this surf town that had a bunch of different breaks. I didn’t have my board because I was already carrying too much, so I was hoping to rent one, or find someone to loan me a used one. We met some guys on a bus to La Libertad and found out that they worked at ‘Roots’ campsite, at this beach fifteen minutes away, so we decided to check it out. It was this cute little campsite that was right on the beach-break, and we chose the upstairs palapa for $4 a night. I ran to check the waves and they were so nice! Not only that, but there was a different beach break and a point break to my right and another beach break to my left! My mission was to get a board, so my outgoing friend and I decided to take a walk toward the black sand break. Immediately, she asked the first guy that came out of the water. He said ‘no,’ but after my friend’s begging, he finally caved in and let me catch a few waves. The winds made them a little mushy, but there were nice, shoulder-high rights and lefts coming in. I caught some nice waves and returned the board. That was just the beginning of a nice surf trip in El Salvador………(to be continued).
