Where’s Yadin?

The Aussie phenom, Yadin Nicol, came within a hair’s width of qualifying in his maiden year on the World Qualifying Series.  Yadin had an absolutely amazing season, maintaining a top 15 spot for much of his 2008 campaign.  He managed to hold on to 10th place until mid October, before sliding to 19th then 22nd, and finally back up to 18th.  Unfortunately for Yadin, his 18th place finish on the WQS left him high and dry for 2009.  On the other hand, it offers him a great seed on the 2009 WQS, assuring him a better than first Round start for nearly all events next year.  A seed on the 2010 World Tour looks almost certain, given Yadin’s incredible talent and superior contest skills.  Fellow top WQS competitor Gabe Kling referred to Yadin’s freshman run as “amazing”, and his ascension to the big leagues as “a sure thing”.

Yadin will follow in the footsteps of fellow aerialist Aussies, Taj Burrow and Josh Kerr, as an enormous talent at a young age, with the drive and determination to take on the world’s best.  Wishing Yadin a strong campaign in 2009, and hoping we’ll see more of his explosive talent on the dream tour in 2010.
