Abberton, Koby
Bad ass, kick ass brah from Maroubra Beach, Sydney, Australia. Aside from his surfing career and run-ins with the Aussie and Hawaian legal systems, Abberton has been romantically linked with Tara Reid and some seriously hot supermodels. Mad tats.
Academics
One of things that can suffer through surfing. But you didn't choose UCSD or Pepperdine for academics anyway...
Accomodating Kook
Still a kook, but shows respect in that they won't drop in on you, stays away from the main peak but still has problems with ditching their board. Typically an intermediate-beginner surfer on a fairly new surfboard. Tolerable.
Association of Surfing Professionals
- The highest governing body in professional surfing, since 1983. Governs the World Tour, World Qualifying Series, World Longboard Tour, Pro Junior Series and World Master’s Championships. Formerly known as the International Professional Surfers (IPS) organization from 1976 – 1982.
- Surfing's Pro League. I wish I was part of the Association, ya know? Sounds like fun.
August, Robert
I can hear the Endless Summer theme song playing in my head now. Robert August and Mike Hyson travelled around the world with Bruce Brown and filmed the surf epic, with longboards in tow. August now resides and slides in Costa Rica, having spawned a brand of surfboards called "What I ride." August is one of the coolest surfers around.
Australia
Country where surfing is the national sport, the surfers are all decendents of prisoners, and it's hard to understand their heavily-accented English. Australia's got the best some of the best waves, surfers and surfing in the world, along with a healthy dose of hot surfer chicks, like Elle MacPherson, the supermodel, and Ashley Cheadle. There's even a city called "Surfer's Paradise". Exactly.
