Australia’s Adam Melling has once again risen to the top of the pack by taking top honors at the 2009 WQS 6 Star Prime O’Neill Cold Water Classic in Thurso, Scotland. He took the title and 3500 points in solid waves in the picturesque northern Scotland. Two more events down and plenty of changes amongst the rankings front runners on the 2009 World Qualifying Series. The 6 Star Prime Quiksilver Pro Durban and the 6 Star Estoril Quiksilver Pro completed in fine fashion this weekend, propelling two Brazilians up the current ASP World Qualifying Series ratings. After a lay day on Monday, the 6 Star Prime 2009 Quiksilver Pro Durban presented by Virgin Mobile officially kicked off on Tuesday. With 3,500 points and $20,000 on offer for the winner, the Durban event has attracted many of the world’s top competitive surfers. The 6 Star Prime, Drug Aware Pro had another amazing day of waves on Friday at Margaret River, West Australia. The remaining heats of Round 2 and all of Round 3 were completed in the overhead to double overhead surf. Former World Tour surfer, Daniel Ross was the big standout of the day.
