Metaphor time! If getting barreled is the closest thing to an orgasm, than this is the closest a man will ever get to a woman's. It's common knowledge that a female orgasm last much longer compared to a Male's, and to put this in layman's terms, a man's peak would be compared to a quick tube at the pier. Where a woman's time in the "Spirit World" would be more like Ozzie Wright's ridiculously long barrel in Indo, click here. Get my drift? That is the difference between what's happening inside … [Read more...]
Kelly Slater’s Rebel Tour back on? So says the interweb…

Just when you thought it was dead in the water… our friends at Surfers Village picked up on a bit of gossip from Australian Surfing Life - Kelly Slater’s “Rebel Tour”, AKA the breakaway tour, AKA the Champions Surf Tour, is alive and kicking. “According to those rumours, the CST has signed a slew of surfers including Dane Reynolds, Andy and Bruce Irons, Ry Craike, Taj Burrow, Rob Machado, Shane Dorian, Mitch Coleborn, Clay Marzo and, of course, Kelly himself.” "Rumours heard by … [Read more...]
Billabong Pro Teahupoo – Parko out, Slater falls again but logs the year’s sickest turn

After more lay days than this addict can take without going crazy, the Billabong Pro Teahupoo finally resumed competition on Monday. With a three foot swell in the water and waves expectedly on the rise, the decision was made to wrap up Round 2 and jump into Round 3. Let's jump to the day's highlights: Current tour frontrunner, Joel Parkinson (AUS) posted a convincing victory over local wildcard, Heiarii Williams (PYF) in Round 2, but was knocked out in the next round by Taylor Knox (USA), … [Read more...]
Kelly Slater semi-retires pre Bells, Andy Irons to take his spot on tour

Following his career low result at the Quiksilver Pro on the Gold Coast, where Kelly Slater was ousted by wildcard Quiksilver team rider Julian Wilson, leaving him with an equal 33rd, Slater has decided to call it a year. While he has not suggested he will be retiring for good, he has decided to switch hats for the time being with his former nemesis, Andy Irons. Irons, as we all know had worked out a sabbatical situation with the ASP, to allow him to take 2009 off, with a spot reserved on the 2010 … [Read more...]
Andy Irons is stoked – a feature interview with DailyStoke.com

The Andy Irons of last season is gone. We got the chance to sit down and talk shop with the new Andy: laid-back, chillaxed and definitely stoked on being away from the ASP World Tour - at least for now. The three time World Champ was touring for the premiere of A Fly in the Champagne, which documents his breaking-the-ice-trip with nine time World Champ, Kelly Slater. We talked life off tour, Lyndie, the tour and the sweet travel Irons is doing in 2009. DailyStoke.com: So how is semi-retirement … [Read more...]
Transworld’s story of the decade – Slater & Irons – leaves off with an interesting cliffhanger

In the TrannyWorld article documenting the much hyped Kelly Slater and Andy Irons “Fly in the Champagne” trip, everyone’s favorite action sports announcer, Sal Masekela, leaves off with an interesting cliffhanger of an ending. I say a truly focused Andy Irons.” As we all know now, Andy has officially taken the year off in 2009, taking a much needed sabbatical to revive his competitive spark. And, as we also now … [Read more...]
Looky what I found – Runamuk Vintage Footage

I came across an old throw-back mixed footage (some never before seen) clip of Bruce & Andy Irons, Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, and Kelly Slater on the Runamuk blog. According to Runamuk it's some old used/un-used footage they've gathered from the last couple years filming. Well.. They put it together, threw in some Block Party, and posted it up on their blog. So go get a cold one, turn up the speakers, and enjoy! … [Read more...]
Lost Enterprises releases 2009 board line, and Chris Ward warms up for Quiksilver Pro.

Duuuuuuude, I'm so stoned! Lost Enterprises released their 2009 board line Click Here To View, and there's definitely a few gems. My favorite board is this 1997 limited edition remake of the fish Cory Lopez, Chris Ward, and Andy Irons were riding while filming the first 5'5" x 19 1/4. If you smoked enough weed first you might feel as if you're ripping just as hard as they were. Naturally you won't be, and frolicking around in the ankle deep ocean's edge while your surfboard bakes to a bubbling puss … [Read more...]
Claiming it in the big leagues

While watching the Quiksilver Pro on the Gold Coast last night, I had quite a few chuckles at Brazilian, Jihad Khodr’s expense, as every time one of his hands was raised above waist level, the commentators for the event were calling it a claim. They were mostly heckling him and having a bit of fun, as his performance for the event has been unbelievably solid, as he just narrowly missed making the quarterfinals. The Brazilians on tour have taken a lot of flack over the years for their apparent inability … [Read more...]
Looks like Andy Irons is enjoying himself off tour.
Weeeeeeeeee! It looks like Andy Irons is making the most of his free time off the tour. This is a clip of him jumping out of a helicopter, and parachuting down to the beach in Tavarua like how James Bond might do coming in for a mission. "Irons, Andy Irons." -That's my horrible James Bond reference while Andy squeezes a pineapple wedge in his pina colada. Andy Iron's mission: To have fun & get buzzed, and surf perfect waves with his friends. As everyone knows by now Andy Irons is not … [Read more...]
