Wave Garden: Man Made Waves for the Masses?

About This Video:

Living just a few miles away from one of the World Tour's premier stops, you would think I'd never be starved for waves. Think again. Over the last three months, the waves at my never to be revealed, not so secret location have averaged FLAT. That's right, FLAT. In three months, we've had only a handful of days that were surfable. I'm definitely not a picky guy and I'm known to be one of the foremost micro wave grovelers in the area.

There just haven't even been grovel worthy waves, with the ocean going flat as a lake for two week stretches at a time. How is this possible you ask? Some will blame La Nina or just a horrible weather pattern over the past three months. I've given up on seeking explanations and am just dying for a little fun surf at home. I don't need big waves or an epic swell; just a fun surf at home.

Then I stumble upon what appears to be an everyman's man made wave that has been generating viral buzz on the interwebs. Now, I'm thinking about where I can go ahead and build my own to escape the flatness of the ocean. Check out the video and be sure to check out Wave Garden's official website www.wave-garden.com on February 15th to see what the clever Spanish crew behind this has put together.
